Anthony (Tony) Dodds, Executive MBA, CPA, MS in Taxation.
Tony brings over 27 years of expertise in M&A, Finance, Accounting and Tax Support Services cutting across numerous industries and functional areas. Tony has built a solid foundation as a CPA and worked for two of the ‘Big 4’ accounting firms earlier in his career. Tony’s most recent roles were as the President and CFO for a national distributor of MRO and industrial supplies, and as the CFO for a national steel supply chain company. His career has spanned from smaller family-run S corps and LLC’s to multi-national Fortune 500 companies. After extensive M&A work in numerous industries both domestically and internationally, Tony has transitioned his skill set to consulting in order to provide more flexibility and focused service to his clients. With the ability to work remotely or on-site, Tony is uniquely positioned to help clients with their accounting needs across a wide spectrum: accounting compliance and policies, internal controls, month-end close, tax compliance, M&A negotiations / due diligence, and many other finance challenges.
Tony has been asked to lecture throughout his career on topics ranging from M&A, Sarbannes-Oxley, and Uncertain Tax Positions. He has achieved success in the software development services, manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, and consumer / retail industries. Tony has often worked closely with HR in support of executive and sales incentive plans and other management incentive and employee benefit plan structures (with a focus on favorable tax treatments). Tony’s collaborative, energetic and decisive leadership style makes achieving goals and delivering results a reality.
His educational background includes an Executive MBA in International Finance, a Masters of Science in Taxation (MST) and a BSBA in Finance from the University of Vermont. Tony has maintained his Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification since 1995, and has been a speaker and instructor for continuing professional education (CPE) on a variety of technical accounting and tax topics.
Tony enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing the piano (he’s been known to close down a piano bar or two…). Tony has traveled extensively throughout the US, as well as internationally. Tony and his wife, Agata, live in Richmond, VA and occasionally outside of Warsaw, Poland.
