Unwavering in his belief in human potential, for the past 20 plus years, Bob, via his firm 1Hero Sports, LLC, has been dedicated to assessing and developing the emotional and social intelligence of CEOs (over 12,000), elite athletes, special operations warriors and leaders-in-training for clients ranging from Abbott Laboratories to General Electric and from the US Military Academy at West Point to Burton Snowboards. Able to get into trouble in 20 languages but out of trouble in only four, Bob has served as a keynote speaker, senior instructor, bi-lingual facilitator and consultant for companies, educational institutions, and athletic and military organization on 6 of the 7 continents.
A veteran of 21 continental and 6 intercontinental (that’s right all-7) marathons including the Antarctic Marathon, Mount Everest Marathon Challenge, the Vermont 100 and the Hard Rock 100 endurance races, Bob “walks his talk” in all aspects of his life.
When not presenting the case for improved human performance via emotional intelligence, Bob can be found traveling the world with his wife, Heather, their daughter, Sierra, (19) and their son, Camden, (17). In one calendar year they explored all 7 continents challenging themselves via mountaineering in Antarctica, camel riding in Morocco, sea kayaking in northern Alaska, surfing in South Africa, scuba diving with sharks in eastern Australia, trekking through jungles in India, surfing off the coast of Lima, Peru, and chilling with their extended family in Varberg, Sweden.
Bob serves as an instructor at the US Naval Warfare Center, raises money for homeless veterans (he is a combat veteran), coaches high school girls’ lacrosse and tries to keep up with his wife on mountain bikes, skis, surf boards and running shoes.
“To know that one life breathes easier because you have lived” is his daily mantra, and his nightly dinner question for his children; “Whose life is better because you were/are in it?”
